3 tips for international students

By Ziao, MSc Advanced Computing

Preparing for life at university can be especially stressful for international students, as we have to learn to adapt quickly!  I encourage you to take on these challenges with a positive attitude in order to make the most of the different activities and events that take place across King’s, both in terms of study as well as employment. Here are my tips:

1. Try to arrange your accommodation as soon as possible.

I would suggest looking into accommodation as soon as you decide to join us at King’s! There are lots of options to look into, but it’s important to remember that some apartments can be competitive to secure – look into King’s Residences to learn more.

2. Plan a study routine after you settle down

There are a great number of study locations across King’s. It’s helpful if you download the King’s Mobile app on your phone, so that you can check schedules and maps beforehand to help plan accordingly – you dont want to miss miss any significant lectures and tutorials!

3. Get involved in careers events

Kings holds regular job events, and top employers are often invited to come to campus to meet qualified students. The careers and employability support at King’s is great, and you can explore modules on things such as perfecting your CV or interview tips. My advice is to get your CV ready as early as possible, and keep an eye on the website for relevant events.
