By type of room

Where the activity involves physical movement, the kind of room you are allocated is important. The following collections of guides respond to different constraints with physical teaching spaces.

  • Flexible spaces – activities which need configurable space and movable furniture*.
  • Fixed spaces – activities which can, if necessary, take place in lecture theatres with bench seating, or which can be adapted to accommodate fixed seating.
  • Spaces with tables – activities which require, or are better with, work surfaces which accommodate groups.

*Where an activity needs flexible spaces, we are investigating whether digital technologies might enable them in more restricted spaces.
