King’s College London’s Graduate School has changed its name. It is now called the Centre for Doctoral Studies and will focus entirely on the specific needs and lifecycle of postgraduate research students.

The Centre for Doctoral Studies will continue to offer PGR students the same world-class support for research standards, funding and scholarships, training, skills development, and guidance as before. However, as our focus and responsibility shifts towards research, we will be renewing efforts to provide outstanding postgraduate research student experience to equip research students to excel.

So what is changing?

The Graduate School is now called the Centre for Doctoral Studies and is located under the administrative umbrella of the Research Management & Innovation directorate. We will also work alongside the Centre for Research Staff Development,

Focus on postgraduate research

From this Autumn, the Centre for Doctoral Studies will focus solely on postgraduate research students. Postgraduate taught provision will be coordinated through the Students & Education directorate, with continued academic leadership from Prof Kim Wolff

New leadership

The new academic lead for the Centre of Doctoral studies will soon be appointed. They will be working closely with the Heads of Graduate Studies in each faculty to ensure the continued world-class standard of postgraduate research at King’s
