This upcoming event, titled “Red herring, paper tigers or the elephant in the room? Rethinking climate and water in the Middle East”, is another instalment in a webinar series dedicated to the late Tony Allan. We want to thank our organisers Dr. Naho Mirumachi, Reader in Environmental Politics and Lead of King’s Water Hub, and Dr. Alan Nicol, Director of the IWMI’s Strategic Program on Water, Growth and Inclusion, for putting together this event.
What’s Covered
This webinar, happening shortly after COP26, takes on the significant issue of water and climate, focusing on the Middle East and North African region. In it, we ask our panel speakers how climate change poses more significant questions about the political economy of water in the region, drawing on experiences from the Tigris-Euphrates basin in Iraq.
