Goodbye King’s, Hello Career

This week signals the beginning of our Goodbye King’s, hello career campaign. With exams approaching, we know that your career prospects may not be at the forefront of your priorities right now. We agree – they shouldn’t be. This is why King’s graduates have the option of using our career services, for free, for up to two years after graduating.

In the meantime, a healthy lifestyle is vital to tackle the challenges of exam anxiety. We all know that exams put a full-stop to all other parts of your life. Coffee breaks become less frequent, all-nighters spent studying become your natural sleep cycle, and lunch times reduce to short trips to get your meal deals at the closest Tesco or Sainsbury’s. All this and still at the back of your mind, you are well aware that you STILL need to look for a job after exams! Yieeks… overthinking and worrying is not the best way to go about it.

Instead, do the opposite. Eat well, sleep properly, exercise regularly and try to relax every so often. Healthy food and a good night’s sleep are your best friends during this stressful period, as they will keep your energy levels up. Keep your thoughts about the actual exam days and career applications away, and focus on learning in a positive environment. Go for walks, listen to your favourite music and surround yourself with positivity – and, above all, be kind to yourself because you deserve it.

In the weeks leading up to and during exams, King’s Wellbeing will be holding their annual Take Time Out campaign – join them for self-care activities and learn useful tips for your lifestyle success. For a list of events you can attend, click here.

This week, we have employers such as Teach First, Omnicom and ICS Health coming onto campus (see timetable below). Take a well-earned break from your revision and have a relaxed chat with them. They all have opportunities available – you might find that this can put your (careers) mind at rest. Members of our team will also be outside Maughan Library today and tomorrow, to answer any questions you may have regarding careers.

Omnicom Health Group Outside New Hunts House Mon 23rd – 1:30pm
