The Women in Engineering Accelerator, introduced by Akama Fund and sponsored by Beebolt, is a groundbreaking scholarship opportunity aimed at women of Middle Eastern heritage pursuing studies in Computer Science or Engineering. This initiative was launched in honour of International Women’s Day and coincides with the generous spirit of Ramadan.

  • All eligible applicants will receive access to mentorship programs, personal development workshops and networking opportunities.

 

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Accelerator, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently studying in the UK in an undergraduate or postgraduate program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology (with a focus on software development or systems engineering), Data Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Engineering, Robotics Engineering related fields.
  • From a Middle Eastern heritage or background.
  • Have a household income below £50,000 evidenced by a means-tested assessment as part of your application for a student loan.

 

Application Process

  • Complete a short online application by April 20th, 2024.
  • All eligible applicants will be contacted.
  • Shortlisted candidates for the financial award will be notified by mid April 2024 and invited to a brief interview process.
