Interested in the XR space? Eager to explore and create new ideas for the Metaverse? This hackathon may be for you! Applications open on March 28th 2023, and close on May 10th 2023!
This is a full day hackathon that will cover:
- Welcome and intros
- Ideas – volunteers stand up and pitch your idea
- Work together on your idea for the rest of the day through guided workshops and time to work together
- What makes a great idea and core components of putting one together
- Tools you can use to build in ar/vr/metaverse to research in your own time
- End with next steps / how to apply to the 100 Days Challenge
- Introduction to the Metaverse and how to build in the metaverse
- Metaverse examples, ideas for what your XR idea could be
- What is the metaverse, what do we mean by horizon worlds, etc with practical examples.
- Understand the importance of this industry and what it will affect in the future + worth of the market.
This hackathon will also help you know how to apply to our 100 Days Challenge application.
Who is this for?
- Underrepresented individuals or teams of up to 3 who have an idea for a Metaverse world.
- You must be in the UK
- You must be from an ethnic minority background
- You must be 18+ years old (if you are 16 or 17, reach out to us for confirmation if you can come along).
Why should you apply?
- A training programme to evolve your idea further into a potential business
- Become featured on a microsite dedicated to the programme and Meta – for networking and visibility purposes
- The 12 top-rated ideas by the end of the programme will also be invited to pitch at a showcase event where further support to build your idea will be offered and you will get a bundle of Meta Quest technology (prizes).
