Moving to a bustling city like London as an international student was both exciting and nerve-wracking. I was keeping my fingers crossed about my accommodation at Urbanest Vauxhall, one of the King’s residences out of the wide variety of choices offered by the University, including Stamford Street Apartments, City, Atlas, Great Dover Street and so on to name a few. Finding a place that felt safe, comfortable, and well-connected was important to me, and let me tell you, I was rejoicing about my decision to choose a King’s residence from the very first day I started living here.
Perfect location
Vauxhall is an accommodation exclusively for postgraduate students. It brings in me a sense of calmness, despite being in the heart of the city. Public transport is highly accessible, with excellent rail and road connectivity that makes commuting to university or exploring the city a breeze. The convenience of living here is unmatched – everything I need is just a short walk away. This amazing location truly enhances the student experience.
Clean and well-equipped living spaces
The amenities and rooms provided at King’s residences are truly best suited for student life, offering various room types suiting different needs. The cleanliness and upkeep of the residence are commendable. Each floor has a spacious kitchen equipped with essential appliances, providing an excellent space to cook and bond with flatmates. There is also a dedicated study area, ensuring a quiet environment for those focused work sessions. Additionally, the recreational spaces include table tennis, video games, and board games. One of my favorite aspects is the rooftop terrace, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of London – a perfect spot to unwind after a long day.
Engaging events
Life at a King’s residence has not just been a place to rest and sleep, but has also helped me build amazing friendships and make the best out of the student life in London. King’s residences offers us a great social life, with well-planned fun events throughout the whole year, ranging from movie nights, board game nights, cocktail parties, Sunday brunches and themed celebrations to name a few. The sense of community is truly heartwarming, making it easy to feel at home despite being thousands of miles away from family.
Supportive wellbeing team
We also have residential wellbeing ambassadors and staff, who are always willing to share a cup of hot chocolate and have a nice conversation with you. This support has been invaluable in managing homesickness and adjusting to life in a new country, especially for an international student like me, living thousands of miles away from home.
