My name is Dean Gottliffe and I am currently on the Civil Service Fast Stream’s Project Delivery stream, working at Navy Command HQ in Portsmouth as a programme support officer. I graduated from King’s College London with a BA (Hons.) in Ancient History in July 2011. In the following eight years, I have worked at a variety of organisations, including a local government office in Toyama Prefecture, Japan where I worked as a coordinator of international relations, and an inspectorate for private schools in England. At the age of 28, I found out about the Civil Service Fast Stream and was particularly interested in the Project Delivery stream, as it presented an opportunity to manage and deliver huge government projects and programmes in areas such as transport, health and defence. These projects and programmes have a major impact on all our daily lives, and I believe that few graduate schemes provide such an opportunity to make such a positive impact on so many lives.
In addition to project delivery, the Civil Service Fast Stream has 14 other streams, which include:
- the Generalist scheme;
- the Diplomatic Service;
- Human Resources;
- Houses of Parliament;
- Diplomatic service economics;
- Government Economic Service;

- Finance;
- Government Communication Service.
