We’ve got details of two pretty exciting looking career events for students with disabilities or long-term health conditions. Investing in Talent gives you the chance to find out about opportunities available in Investment Banking, and BlackRock are also hosting a networking evening where you’ll be able to meet members of their Ability Network. Both these events are very soon, so we wouldn’t recommend hanging around if you’re interested….
Investing in Talent – Friday 19th October
Investing in Talent is an exclusive, interactive careers event for talented and ambitious undergraduates, with a disability or long-term health condition, who want to find out more about the exciting career opportunities available in investment banking.
It might feel like an extra mile as a student to take on work in a new environment, however, focusing and being aware of your strengths and competencies when you are applying for a job meeting your criteria can be quite a rewarding experience. Our advice is to take your time to read through the different banks that you will be meeting at the event – being as prepared as possible is the key! The banks participating in the current event include among others; Barclays, Citi, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, UBS and Goldman Sachs.
This is a good opportunity for you to reach out and discuss possibilities, or any questions you might have for the representatives of these organisations.
Despite the challenges students with a disability or long-term health might face, your skills and competencies are much better than you might realise. These organisations see your potential and are ready to tear down this wall by finding alternative ways of making sure your workday functions for you, and with you. They know that you have unique abilities and that many others can also learn from you!
What to expect:
* An introduction to investment banking
