Welcome from the President & Vice-President of the Bioscience Students’ Association

Nina Parrish, President, Sejal Kapoor, Vice-President

Hi everyone! On behalf of King’s Bioscience Students’ Association (also known as the ‘BSA’), we, as President and Vice-president, would like to welcome you to the first of several blog posts to help you get to know us better!

Nina, President of BSA
Sejal, Vice-President of BSA

The BSA is a student association that represents all students studying in the KCL School of Biosciences. We run social, academic and wellbeing events which are advertised on our website as well as our Facebook and Instagram pages. We also offer formal representation for all the Bioscience students to the faculty and vice versa. Our job is to advocate for you on any issues or feedback regarding your student experience at Kings, and anything that you would like to change within the School of Biosciences or within individual degree programmes, can go through us.

We are so excited to be welcoming all of you as our incoming students this September, no matter what form that may take. Obviously COVID-19 has made things a bit uncertain this year and thus your freshers and welcome weeks may look a bit different to usual, but no matter what the circumstances are, come September, we can assure you that we are going to have some great events, meet and greet, and advice sessions, all set up and running for you, whether that be online or in person.

More specific information about everything that we have planned and events for welcome week will be released in the next couple of months, so make sure to head over and follow us on Facebook and Instagram (@kclbsa) to keep up to date with everything we’re doing and to help you plan your first few weeks as a Bioscience student. We will be posting all sorts of information to help you prepare for your start at Kings, including introducing our new committee for this year, tips and tricks for moving into halls (if you are able to do so), help and advice for your first weeks, for studying, and for preparing for university life in London. And while you’re on our facebook page, go and sign up for our monthly newsletter, which will start going out in September with lots of little extras about what we’re up to and information we think will be helpful for you.

Finally, there’s only one thing left for us to say, which is congratulations for gaining your place at Kings and good luck with finding out your results in August! We wish you all the best and cannot wait to welcome you to King’s. See you soon!
