Her research to date has focused on the ethics of migration, and particularly the question of whether states have a moral right to exclude non-citizens. Sarah co-edited (with Lea Ypi)\u00a0<em>Migration in Political Theory: The Ethics of Movement and Membership\u00a0<\/em>(Oxford University Press, 2016). In recent years, she has been thinking about methodology in political philosophy, and about work at the intersection of philosophy and the arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Sarah Fine has been working with the UK\u2019s leading human rights theatre company,&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/iceandfire.co.uk\/\">ice&amp;fire<\/a>, playwright&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.berlinassociates.com\/clients\/amy-ng\/\">Amy Ng<\/a>&nbsp;and director&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/donnacadhobriain.co.uk\/\">Donnacadh O\u2019Briain<\/a>, on a theatre project to develop&nbsp;a fun, irreverent and accessible play on the themes of freedom of movement and the politics of exclusion.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/estore.kcl.ac.uk\/conferences-and-events\/academic-faculties\/faculty-of-arts-humanities\/arts-humanities-research-institute\/being-human-festival-flying-circus-airlines-a-little-show-about-immigration-controls\">FLYING CIRCUS AIRLINES<\/a> will be performing at the Being Human Festival in November 2019.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sarah has collaborated with choreographer&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/sivanrubinstein.com\/\">Sivan Rubinstein<\/a>&nbsp;on her project&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sivanrubinstein.com\/maps-2\/\">MAPS<\/a>, exploring an imagined world without borders through music and dance.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019-20, Sivan will be an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/cultural\/artists-in-residence\/artists-in-arts-humanities\/sivanrubinstein\">artist in residence at King\u2019s<\/a>, working on a piece exploring the human experience of climate change through dance, focusing on the voices of young people.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These themes come together in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.co.uk\/e\/being-human-festival-discovering-home-a-dance-and-philosophy-workshop-tickets-67718314301\">\u2018Discovering Home\u2019<\/a>, an upcoming event at the Being Human Festival 2019.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sarah is also a&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.lse.ac.uk\/theforum\/\">Fellow at the Forum for European Philosophy<\/a>, an educational charity championing public philosophy. She organizes and chairs panel events on all sorts of topics, bringing philosophical discussions to a wide audience. The events are free, open to all, and made available as podcasts. Examples include recent podcasts on <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.lse.ac.uk\/theforum\/dance\/\">DANCE<\/a> and on <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.lse.ac.uk\/theforum\/protest-art\/\">PROTEST ART<\/a>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sarah is involved in a collaboration between the Centre for Performance Philosophy at Surrey and Centre for Philosophy and the Visual Arts, King\u2019s College London. Together with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.surrey.ac.uk\/people\/laura-cull-o-maoilearca\">Dr Laura Cull \u00d3 Maoilearca<\/a>, we organized a pilot workshop on Dialogue in April 2019 at King\u2019s, and will be organizing further events in the year ahead.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sarah is also working on a series of events with The Photographers Gallery in collaboration with the Centre for Philosophy and Visual Arts at King\u2019s, on the ethics of photography. The first event was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=RI1-OmQykek\">The Ethics of Capturing<\/a>.<br>As part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/philosophyandvisualarts.com\/\">Centre for Philosophy and Visual Arts&nbsp;<\/a>Artist in Residency Programme 2018, artist&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jortvanderlaan.org\/\">Jort van der Laan<\/a>&nbsp;participated in Sarah\u2019s module on the ethics of migration. His work on the topic appeared in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stedelijk.nl\/en\/news\/stedelijk-museum-presents-netherlands-based-talent\">Freedom of Movement exhibition<\/a>&nbsp;at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/events\/cpva-exhibition-migration-meaning-time\">Migration, Meaning, Time<\/a> exhibition in Bush House in 2019. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr Sarah Fine is Senior Lecturer in Philosophy, King\u2019s Collge London.\u00a0She specialises in political philosophy.
