She is currently a Lecturer in Early Modern Literature and Culture at KCL providing maternity cover until April 2021.\u00a0Gemma&#8217;s research interests are performance focused, looking in particular at contemporary performance of Shakespeare and other early modern dramatists. She published her first monograph,\u00a0<em>Childhood in\u00a0Contemporary\u00a0Performance of\u00a0Shakespeare\u00a0<\/em>in April 2020. She will be co-hosting a seminar at the 2021 Shakespeare Association of America conference called \u2018Child\u2019s Play\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><strong>During lockdown\u00a0Gemma\u00a0developed a MOOC for King&#8217;s \u2013\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.futurelearn.com%2Fadmin%2Fcourses%2Fshakespeare-context-and-stagecraft%2F1&amp;data=04%7C01%7Cpenny.newell%40kcl.ac.uk%7C973c65176ee644fc10b008d882634872%7C8370cf1416f34c16b83c724071654356%7C0%7C0%7C637402710257413761%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&amp;sdata=drYSVq5Kk4RHstwyUI08WJ%2BO6crsISt1JZ%2BHDRFu5%2Fc%3D&amp;reserved=0\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018Shakespeare: Context and Stagecraft\u2019<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 which has launched on the FutureLearn platform.
