New Editorial Board 2017/18

The KSLR Commercial & Financial Blog would like to announce its new Editorial Board for the academic year 2017/18.

The Board is made up of a dedicated, dynamic and diverse team of current and past students at King’s College London with an interest in either corporate law, financial law, governance and regulatory issues, tax law, intellectual property, banking law, investment law or competition law.

Editors

Giorgia Sangiuolo

Giorgia Sangiuolo is a PhD researcher at the Centre of European Law at King’s College London. Giorgia is also a qualified lawyer specialised in European, procurement and energy law, associated with the Rome Bar Council. Her research focuses on the mechanisms of dispute resolution in the field of international investment law, with specific regard to their interaction with EU law.

Romit Bhandari

Rom is a fourth year PhD candidate at the Dickson Poon Law School at King’s College London. His research examines the political economy of EU asylum law and human rights. He has taught contract, tort and human rights law at various institutions and has a background in journalism and academic editing.

Sylwester Gumienny

Sylwester finished his PG Diploma in EU Competition Law at King’s College London in 2016 and now continues with MA programme, writing on private actions for damages in Europe. Before undertaking his post-graduate qualification he studied Economics and Politics at UCL in London and holds a degree in International Relations from Collegium Civitas in Warsaw. His personal interests include competition law developments in the EU and beyond, especially in relation to antitrust damages at the national level in EU Member states. Sylwester has a strong background in publishing and he is currently working at PaRR-Global which reports daily on policy and legal developments in Competition Law. His experiences also include contributing to financial publications for Reed Elsevier and working for MLex.

Joshua Chircop

Joshua is an LL.M. candidate at King’s College London specialising in International Financial Law. He graduated from the University of Malta with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Master of Advocacy in 2016 and 2017 respectively. Joshua was actively involved in the Malta Law Students’ Society between 2014 and 2016 and in the International Bar Association Student Committee between 2016 and 2017.

Shirene Pek

Shirene is an LLM candidate at King’s College London specialising in Competition Law and graduated from the University of Manchester with a Bachelor of Laws in 2017. She has an interest in the workings of economics, antitrust and regulation in the digital economy.

Xenia Makridou is a third year LLB STUDENT at King’s College London. She is 2017-2018’s KCL Pro Bono Society Law Mentoring Project’s President, and KCL’s Student Ambassador for Law. She is also an Accredited Mediator with 218 Strand. Her interests lie in intellectual property and property/land law in general, as well as tax law.

Tricia Teh is a second year LLB student at King’s College London. She is currently the VP Finance of the newly established KCL chapter of AIESEC, an assisting editor for Amnesty International Hong Kong, and has recently become an Accredited Mediator with 218 Strand. Her interests lie in IT law and intellectual property.
