One of its themes is the proper use of wealth.\u00a0The text was first published in Venice in 1788; a second edition, also printed in Venice, appeared in 1804.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kcl.ac.uk\/kingscollections\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/140\/files\/2016\/05\/nativityinline.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-544 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kcl.ac.uk\/kingscollections\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/140\/files\/2016\/05\/nativityinline.jpg\" alt=\"nativityinline\" width=\"150\" height=\"184\" \/><\/a>Our copy, advertised as a third edition, was published in Constantinople (Istanbul) in 1859 by Evangelinos Misaelidis (1820-90) a journalist, novelist and translator. Born in the city of Manisa in one of the Aegean provinces of the Ottoman Empire, Misaelidis was educated at the Evangelikos School in Smyrna before attending the then newly-established University of Athens.
