Citizens were encouraged to invest in \u2018War Loans\u2019 which were used to help finance the war.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Why<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The reason why I have selected these posters is that they clearly demonstrate the need for further fundraising which was aimed at those who could not enlist into the war. These images show us the lengths to which ordinary people were expected to take in order to support the war. What is striking to me is the extraordinary sacrifices that were made for the war effort.
