Grants for department Widening Participation activity

The WP Grant scheme is inviting bids for £2,000-£10,000 for departments and individuals to deliver widening participation initiatives in 2015/16. The scheme provides support to widening participation initiatives using the expertise of King’s staff. It provides funding to activities that can demonstrate ability to contribute to the university’s widening participation strategy and aims. In addition to financial support, bid holders will receive support from the Widening Participation Department to deliver activity, including support with evaluation, engaging schools and young people and space for activity on campus. Bids could include outreach activity with young people, events for schools, teachers and advisors or support for students on-course at King’s.

The scheme is being launched at an afternoon conference in the Great Hall on Friday 1 May, 12:00 to 15:30: Anyone interested in finding out more can book their place at the Working with Schools & Colleges Conference Eventbrite page.

Applications open online from 1 May 2015 and close on Friday 19 June 2015.

Further information and a link to the application form is available from Ruth Squire in the Widening Participation Department (ruth.squire@kcl.ac.uk).
