Student Member Wanted for Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee

Would you like to help King’s and gain valuable experience serving on a major university committee?

The College’s Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee are currently recruiting for a new student member to join from February 2017.  This is an important committee which plays a key role in the university’s governance.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience through membership of a sub-committee of the College Council. As the Committee’s student member, you will have the opportunity to contribute a student’s viewpoint to the Committee’s deliberations in a positive, constructive and engaged way. This will involve preparing for and attending meetings of the Committee (usually three per year, in term time). You should be numerate and have strong analytical skills, a sense of commitment of service to the university and the ability to see ‘the bigger picture’, including an understanding of the environmental factors which affect the Higher Education sector. An understanding of the importance of confidentiality in collective decision making is essential for participating in this committee’s work.

The appointment will be for a term of two years and will be conditional on remaining registration as a student of King’s.

Closing date for applications is Friday 9th December 2016.

Interviews will be held on the afternoon of Friday 16th December 2016. The position will be effective from February 2017.

Seeking PhD student as Study Skills Tutor (Statistical Support)

The Study Skills Centre at King’s College London are looking to recruit a PhD student for the role of Study Skills Tutor (Statistical Support), to support and advise students on a one-to-one basis in statistics, experimental design and data analysis, SPSS (beginners, intermediate and advanced), Minitab and NViVO.

Experience / Skills
You will be undertaking a PhD at King’s College London or have completed one. You are expected to undertake two-part training on 1 & 2 February

Qualifications
Teaching experience would be desirable, but you have to be undertaking/have completed a PhD. We welcome applicants from Life Sciences and Medicine; Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience; Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery and,the Dental Institute.
