Project Oracle Research Fair

Project Oracle are running a Research Fair where master’s and PhD students can arrange research placements with London youth providers. The event will be in Central London on Wednesday 18th February 2015.

Research Placements Evaluating Impact of Youth Charities for PhD and Post-graduate Students

  • This is an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to your own research, dissertation, or accredited work
  • It also provides the opportunity to support youth charities and contributing to social science research with real impact
  • Placements are between two weeks and six months with the potential for ongoing research
  • Placements will be starting between February – June 2015
  • Individuals should have experience of evaluation methodology, qualitative and/or quantitative methods
  • All placements are supported by Project Oracle

x4 Internship positions available at King’s Learning Institute

The King’s Learning Institute seek 4 current King’s students to help develop their King’s Experience project. This is an opportunity to apply your existing skills in a new situation and receive training in basic social science research methods and qualitative data analysis. These internships involve various project activities around the King’s Experience initiative and are available to students from each of the Clinical Health, Social Sciences, Sciences and Arts and Humanities disciplines.

Dates and duration
Placements will start on 27th January and finish mid-April 2014. Placements will be part-time and flexible (5-7 hours a week or 25-30 hours per month) to accommodate students’ academic commitments.

Payment – £10 p/h

Institute of Psychiatry – Research Assistant Intern

The Institute of Psychiatry at King’s is Europe’s largest centre for research and post-graduate education in psychiatry, basic and clinical neuroscience.

The internship supports the investigation of the impact of medical education placements at the Maudsley Hospital. The intern will collect and analyse project data, conduct interviews with staff and students and undertake teaching observations within a clinical setting. This internship is best suited to postgraduate King’s students within the Institute of Psychiatry and the schools of Medicine and Nursing and Midwifery. Students with an interest in medical education, research and/or mental health will be looked at favourably

Dates and duration – January 2014 to June 2014. Part time (150 hours over 6 months, flexible hours)

Payment – £10.44 per hour
