Internship opportunities in Bangalore, India

This is an external opportunity for master’s and Ph.D.-level students.

The Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) is offering Internships aimed to equip students to learn more about practice and research in their chosen fields, as well as immerse themselves in a unique interdisciplinary and innovative environment.

The IIHS is looking for master’s and Ph.D.-level students who are interested in working on a specialized project within a particular research cluster or as part of an interdisciplinary team at IIHS. They are especially interested in students who are pursuing advanced degrees in varying fields such as law, informatics, media, and sustainability and focus their work on issues of urban planning and development.

These internships are for periods between 2 and 6 months, from May to December 2014.

King’s Cultural Challenge 2014 is underway!

Next Wednesday, 19th February, the King’s Cultural Institute will be holding the first of their workshops to help you develop your ideas, and bring you a step closer to winning a paid internship with the Royal Opera House, the Southbank Centre, the V&A and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Come along to the workshops, where staff from these four organisations, as well as professional facilitators, will be there to talk to you about your ideas and what it’s like to work in the world of the arts and culture.

Open Space workshop
When: Wednesday 19 February 2014, from 15.30  
Where: River Room, King’s Building, Strand Campus
What: This workshop is a chance for students to further explore the Challenge question in a collaborative and conversational format, and to begin to build their own ideas. Ideas Lab

What: This workshop is a chance for students to develop and refine their responses to the Challenge question. Further information to follow. Knowledge Producers Internship (Shobana Jeyasingh Dance)

An internship has been developed to support the research, production and realisation of Shobana Jeyasingh’s work as well as marketing and publicity of that work with creative engagement with audiences and participants. The intern will gain skills through the presentation of new and existing projects and support experienced artists and producers to ensure the best possible experience from performances.

Dates and duration
Part-time, 2 days per week. Starts 24th February 2014 and ends 16th May 2014.

Payment
The stipend is to be agreed between the intern and the King’s Cultural Institute following recruitment.

Student Services Engagement Interns (x4)

The King’s Learning Institute seek 4 more current King’s students to help develop their Student Services Engagement project. This is an opportunity to apply your existing skills in a new situation and receive training in basic social science research methods and qualitative data analysis.

Payment
£10 p/h

Dates and duration
Placements will start w/c 10th February and end 17th April 2014. Placements will be 6 hours a week and can be completed flexibly to accommodate students’ academic commitments. All students must be available on 10th February for an induction.

x4 Internship positions available at King’s Learning Institute

The King’s Learning Institute seek 4 current King’s students to help develop their King’s Experience project. This is an opportunity to apply your existing skills in a new situation and receive training in basic social science research methods and qualitative data analysis. These internships involve various project activities around the King’s Experience initiative and are available to students from each of the Clinical Health, Social Sciences, Sciences and Arts and Humanities disciplines.

Dates and duration
Placements will start on 27th January and finish mid-April 2014. Placements will be part-time and flexible (5-7 hours a week or 25-30 hours per month) to accommodate students’ academic commitments.

Payment – £10 p/h
