The DRESDEN-concept science exhibition is a project of 24 Dresden-based research institutions. It presents complex scientific topics and current research results in a comprehensible way. The exhibition was held in Dresden in 2016, and is currently on display in London at King’s Guy’s Campus.
The DRESDEN-concept Science Exhibition will introduce you to Dresden as a location of science, and highlight the achievements of the transCampus partnership. The transCampus partnership between King’s and the Technische Universität Dresden is a “Star Alliance”, creating a partnership that joins our scientific strengths to deliver successful medical programmes and technology collaborations.
In Health, colleagues are working on Islet cell, and kidney and bone marrow transplantation. In Engineering, the Centre for Telecommunications Research at King’s is engaged in leading 5G research with Ericsson and Vodafone at Dresden. These joint efforts create a partnership that benefits our students and academic staff while tackling global challenges.
This exhibition reflects a spirit of innovation and a joint desire to meet the challenges of our world together in a way that will make the world a better place.
All events are free and open to the public. A list of events and links to register can be found here. Download the brochure, with a detailed breakdown of each event at this link: Science unlimited_programme brochure.

We would like to invite you to our 1st King’s Student Parents Summer Picnic at the Guys Memorial Gardens on Friday 15th July 2016. Come and join us for an afternoon of Sunshine, Good food and a chance to catch up with fellow student parents within the college and make new friends!
This is a family event so children and partners are very welcome and we will provide some activities to keep the children entertained. A BBQ will be available providing food but you are more than welcome to bring along your own picnics should you wish. There is also currently a beach being prepared at the Guys campus which will be open for the event and a great place for the kids (and adults) to have lots of fun.
This is a free event but you will need to register for a ticket for all members fo your family (if attending) so that we have an idea of numbers when providing food and space.
Fingers crossed for the Sunshine!

The Graduate School is pleased to announce that the Graduate Lounge at Guy’s is to be relocated to a more central site at Guy’s and refurbished. While you have been telling us you value the space to make a coffee, have a chat or do some quiet work we have taken on board your comments that the existing Lounge in the Hodgkin Building isn’t easy to find or in a very convenient location.
So, the Lounge is to be moved to Room 4.20 in Shepherd’s House and refurbished. This will put it in closer proximity to the catering facilities in New Hunt’s House (and the Farmers’ Market foodstalls). There will be kitchen facilities (sink, fridge, kettle, microwave), comfortable seating, wi-fi for those using their own laptops, a printer and 5 networked PCs.
There will also be secure lockers that can be used to store your belongings for the day while you are on campus, something you have asked for.
When combined with the existing postgraduate-only computing workroom on the 3rd floor of Henrietta Raphael (HR3.12) nearby, we will have a Postgraduate Hub at Guy’s for the first time. The 3rd floor room also has an area for informal meetings or working groups.
The work to create this exciting new facility will unfortunately necessitate temporary closure of the existing lounge but it is anticipated that the new Graduate Lounge will open in the week commencing 9th February.
If you have any suggestions for further enhancements to the Graduate Lounges please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
