Christmas Opening Times @ KCL

Many of the university buildings will be closed from 16.00 Thursday 22 December – Monday 2 January. There will be security teams operating at each campus on a 24-hour basis across the Christmas break.

Library Services
During this period the Franklin-Wilkins Building, The Maughan Building, New Hunt’s House and Weston Education Centre libraries are all open 24/7, apart from on the following exceptions:

  • 24 December – all closed from 18.00
  • 25 December – all closed
  • 26 December – all re-open to resume 24/7 programme from 08.30
  • 31 December – all closed from 18.00
  • 1 January – all closed
  • 2 January – all re-open to resume 24/7 programme from 08.30

St Thomas’ House Library: 24-hour room accessible to King’s students, staff and NHS Trust staff only.

Wills Library (Guy’s Campus): 24-hour room accessible to King’s students, staff and NHS Trust staff only.

Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, Foyle Special Collections and Archives Reading Room are all closed during this period. For more information, please visit the webpage.

Global Lounge
We will also be hosting a Global Lounge at the Franklin-Wilkins Building over the Christmas period. The space in the Franklin-Wilkins Building ground floor café will be open for use by all students who will be staying in London during the Christmas break.

It will be open from 13.00 until 21.00 every day from 19 December 2016 – 2 January 2017, including Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, although opening times may vary on these two days.

Winter Wellbeing Crafternoon

Whether you have embraced the festive spirit, or are you looking for your chance too, we have an event for you!

On 9 December, the wellbeing team is hosting their Winter Wellbeing Crafternoon. It promises to be a fun and relaxing afternoon where you can do festive crafts, drink hot chocolate, and eat mince pies. Plus, there is even a chance to win free gym membership for a month and much more …

The next Winter Wellbeing Crafternoon will take place on 9 December 2016, from 13:30 till 16:30pm, in the Macadam Lobby at the Strand Campus.

KDSA X’mas Party – for all King’s PGR students

Due to the rip-roaring success of the PGR Social Mixer that was held in September this year, the King’s Doctoral Students Association (KDSA) have organised a free Christmas party for all PGR students across King’s College London.

Please come along to Guy’s Bar & Café on Friday, 16th December from 7:30pm to finish the autumn semester in style!

KDSA Xmas Party

Apply by Friday to stay with a HOST family for Christmas

HOST links international students at UK universities with friendly approved hosts who offer an invitation to their home for a day, a weekend, or at Christmas.

The British Council and Foreign Office founded HOST in 1987 and since then thousands of students have enjoyed this experience.
