King’s Residences – Wardens Recruitment

King’s Residences are recruiting Wardens to join their Student Experience & Welfare Team for the 2016/17 academic year. The Student Experience & Welfare Team delivers a world class student experience to over 5,000 King’s students living in the 11 King’s Residences.

Wardens are at the heart of the Student Experience & Welfare team. They are responsible for the welfare of students within a hall, building meaningful relationships with students as they make the transition into independent living and adulthood. Wardens support students through the challenges that can arise, be it financial or mental health. Wardens also manage a team of Residence Associates to build a vibrant community within the hall, through student engagement and social activity.

The role is an opportunity to understand the student journey first hand, and the relationship between life in halls and academic performance. For current doctoral Wardens, this has had a positive impact on their teaching. For current professional services staff, it has reinvigorated their commitment to working in Higher Education.

In order to carry out duties effectively, Wardens are required to sleep in accommodation provided by the College, and the College will cover the cost of the accommodation.

Wardens are expected to move in to their halls of residence on the weekend of 3 September 2016.
