Unilever recruits scientists straight into roles at its UK Research Centre at Port Sunlight on Merseyside. However it also recruits scientists onto its ‘Future Leaders’ development programme. Chemistry is the core discipline but the whole range of life sciences we do at King’s would be seen as appropriate.
The recruitment programme will open in October and close in early December – though early applications are advised.
It would be an option for those wanting to stay within science but not to pursue the academic research route.
Although Merseyside is their main UK centre they do their Food research at Colworth in Bedfordshire. However, it is not uncommon for trainees to do part of their training abroad – there are labs in Holland and Bangalore too.
