In this blog, I thought it would be fun to share with you what a typical day in my life looks like as a student in London. Although my days can vary quite a bit depending on coursework, exams, and other commitments, I’ll give you a general idea of what a basic day looks like for me.

9-10.30 am: I start my day by waking up at around 9 am. Taking my time to get ready is important to me, so I make sure to have a relaxing morning routine. After getting out of bed, I freshen up with a shower, do my makeup, and pack my bag with everything I need for the day ahead.

10.30 am: Once I’m ready, I make my way to campus. Living just a short distance away, I usually prefer to walk. It gives me a chance to enjoy the busy London streets and gather my thoughts before the day’s activities begin. I often listen to music or an interesting podcast, to entertain me while I walk.

11 am: I meet up with a couple of my friends at a local coffee shop near campus. We grab a coffee or a quick snack and chat before our morning seminar. It’s a lovely way to catch up and start the day on a positive note. We head to Addison House for our seminar, which is always an interactive and thought-provoking session. In this seminar, we delve into various topics related to my psychological modules. It’s an excellent opportunity to engage in discussions, share insights with classmates, and broaden our perspectives.

12 pm: At 12 I commonly eat lunch. Depending on my mood and schedule, I either bring a packed lunch from home (usually something simple like pasta or a sandwich) or treat myself to a meal at a nearby restaurant with friends. One of our favourite spots is Wasabi, a Japanese restaurant that offers delicious sushi rolls and bento boxes. The student discount they provide comes in handy, too!

1 pm: After lunch, I make my way to the New Hunts House library. It’s my go-to place for focused studying and research. The library environment is conducive to concentration and productivity as you are amongst the busy medical students. I often find a seat in the discussion area with my friends, where we can chat and discuss our assignments. However, if I have an assignment with a tight deadline, I prefer to work in the silent area.

3 pm: I attend a lecture on an intriguing topic in psychology. The professors at King’s College are not only knowledgeable but also passionate about their subjects. Their enthusiasm translates into engaging lectures that make learning an enjoyable experience. I find myself captivated by the discussions and gaining a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

5 pm: After my classes are done for the day, I often have the opportunity to attend society events. Being a creative and artistic person, I particularly enjoy attending henna society events. These gatherings provide a creative outlet where I can explore the beautiful art of henna and express my artistic side. It’s a relaxing and enjoyable experience, and I love seeing the intricate designs on myself for the next couple of weeks (I’ve attached one of my designs below)

7 pm: After social events or any other commitments, I make my way back home. As a student on a budget, I rely on simple and affordable recipes from student cookbooks for dinner. Pasta and risotto are often my go-to options as they allow me to create delicious meals without breaking the bank. Cooking is not only a practical skill but also a relaxing activity for me.

8 pm onwards: Living with my flatmates is a lot of fun, and we always find ways to unwind together. Some evenings, we opt for cosy movie nights with a selection of films or binge-watching TV series. Other times, we venture out to nearby clubs or bars to enjoy the vibrant nightlife London has to offer. It’s a great way to bond, create memories, and make the most of our time as students in this incredible city.

And that’s a glimpse into my daily routine as a King’s College Psychology student! I hope you enjoyed accompanying me through a typical day.

Written by Xanthe Healy – 2nd year Psychology Bsc. Hello, I’m Xanthe, and I am about to finish my 2nd year as a Psychology student […]

[16
11,12,36,32,13,42,15
post-1234","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-undergraduate","tag-ioppn","tag-kings-college-london","tag-life-at-kings","tag-london","tag-psychology","tag-student","tag-undergraduate
["GET
