This year, <a href=\"https:\/\/kclpure.kcl.ac.uk\/portal\/en\/persons\/alexander-giesen\">Alexander Giesen<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/kclpure.kcl.ac.uk\/portal\/en\/persons\/felix-antelme\">Felix Antelme<\/a> will edit the blog and handle the departments&#8217; social media.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Both<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">: We are excited to work with the department to keep you updated on all things King&#8217;s English. We would like to recognise the work previous editors have done in curating this space. My background is in Performance Studies (BA) and the History and Philosophy of Science (MSc). My research interests include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Philosophy of sex, gender, sexuality, and classification<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">History and philosophy of biology and medicine<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Twentieth-century history and philosophy of science<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Twentieth-century dramaturgy, dance, theatre, and performance<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Epistemological and metaphysical anarchism<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Concepts, ideas, and histories of Butler, Brecht, Dupr\u00e9, Diderot, Feyerabend, Foucault, Goodman, Hacking, Hegel, Kant, Malabou<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">My PhD (supervised by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/people\/kelina-gotman\">K\u00e9lina Gotman<\/a> (KCL) and <a href=\"https:\/\/profiles.ucl.ac.uk\/13942-chiara-ambrosio\">Chiara Ambrosio<\/a> (UCL)) investigates the relationship between medical classification and twentieth-century subcultural dance and performance, specifically Michael Clark and Leigh Bowery. I am also a freelance editor and translator. Previously, I have edited three of <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.lancs.ac.uk\/davynotebooks\/the-project-team\/\">Humphry Davy&#8217;s (1778-1829) notebooks<\/a> (2021), supported by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/sts\/\">Science and Technology Studies Department<\/a> at UCL, and the King&#8217;s English Blog (2023-24). I also teach continental philosophy and critical theory at KCL.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I am especially excited to receive submissions fostering the culture and community of the department.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Felix<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">: I am a fourth-year PhD student. My research focuses on left-handedness and what its history and eventual emancipation can teach us about stigma, normativity, and medical and popular understandings of the body and identity. I am supervised by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/people\/kelina-gotman\">K\u00e9lina Gotman<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/people\/patrick-ffrench\">Patrick ffrench<\/a>. Alongside my research, I have taught across various modules and departments at KCL, including the English department&#8217;s critical theory and american literature modules.
