Face to face<\/span>\u00a0(classroom based)<\/span>\u00a0staff<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>student training and CPD\u00a0<\/span>can be<\/span>\u00a0both expensive and time consuming. Courses are delivered at fixed times, in fixed locations and offer limited flexibility for those who cannot attend<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0College physically.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The breadth of courses is also limited by resources we have available, and the skills of staff we have delivering them. Courses can quickly become out-dated, as new software versions become available, and internal resources are not updated.\u202f\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Due to some of these challenges,\u00a0<\/span>King\u2019s College London purchased LinkedIn Learning (previously known as Lynda<\/span>.com<\/span>) licences for all staff and students in 2017 to support\u00a0<\/span>their learning and development<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

LinkedIn Learning<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is an online training library with thousands of high<\/span>–<\/span>quality, current and engaging video tutorials, with new courses added weekly to help users learn business, software, technology and creative skills.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

By providing a flexible online solution,\u00a0<\/span>King\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>aim was to<\/span>\u00a0better<\/span>\u00a0support\u00a0<\/span>staff and students to\u00a0<\/span>achieve\u00a0<\/span>their\u00a0<\/span>academic,\u00a0<\/span>professional\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>nd personal\u00a0<\/span>goals<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>I<\/span>t was\u00a0<\/span>important\u00a0<\/span>that\u00a0<\/span>adequate time and resources was investe<\/span>d<\/span>\u00a0to ensure that the system was utilised effectively.\u00a0<\/span>Therefore, t<\/span>he LinkedIn Learning Implementation and benefits realisation project was created<\/span>, which<\/span>\u00a0aimed to:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
