Create temporary users to find out&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>King\u2019s has recently released a new KEATS feature that allows staff who manage a module area to create a set of temporary user accounts. These accounts only last a few days, but can be used to log into KEATS and explore module spaces exactly as a student would.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Benefits of Temporary Users<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>By creating temporary users you can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Test a student\u2019s journey through your learning material<\/li>\n<li>Investigate and understand how assessment tools work from a student perspective<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that content displays how and when you expect it to<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Guidance on Creating Temporary Users<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Information on how to create temporary users is available in the <a href=\"https:\/\/keats.kcl.ac.uk\/course\/view.php?id=6293\">KEATS Staff Documentation<\/a> under <a href=\"https:\/\/keats.kcl.ac.uk\/mod\/book\/view.php?id=7113564\">Creating Temporary Users<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1637\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1637\" style=\"width: 604px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1637\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.kcl.ac.uk\/digitaleducation\/files\/2023\/06\/Temporary-Users-Creation.png\" alt=\"Screenshot of Temporary Users Creation options\" width=\"604\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.kcl.ac.uk\/digitaleducation\/files\/2023\/06\/Temporary-Users-Creation.png 604w, https:\/\/blogs.kcl.ac.uk\/digitaleducation\/files\/2023\/06\/Temporary-Users-Creation-300x119.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1637\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Create Temporary Users in your KEATS Course<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The \u201cTemporary user creation\u201d functionality is available for the Course Administration menu of your KEATS course and you can create up to 3 accounts at any one time, that will last a maximum of 14 days.<\/p>\n<p>When you create the users they are automatically enrolled in the course created them in and the \u201cStudent\u201d role. Once you have created a temporary user you can log in using the account details via <a href=\"https:\/\/keats.kcl.ac.uk\/?redirect=0\">keats.kcl.ac.uk\/?redirect=0<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Tips: <\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Once a Temporary user is created you can enrol the users into any KEATS area you wish.<\/li>\n<li>If your module space is still hidden give the temporary account the role \u201cStudent Tester\u201d so they are able to access the material.<\/li>\n<li>If you don\u2019t see the Temporary user creation link in you Course Administration Menu then contact your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcl.ac.uk\/ctel\/community-engagement\/faculty-tel-contacts\">local Digital Education team<\/a> as they may need to enable the functionality for your part of KEATS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>King\u2019s has recently released a new KEATS feature that allows staff who manage a module area to create a set of temporary user accounts.
