The EUROCALL Conference is without a doubt the most important conference in Technology Enhanced Learning that takes place in Europe.
This year it celebrates its 23rd iteration and is hosted by Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol, Cyprus, 24 – 27 August 2016.
Today, the Modern Language Centre presented our research, conducted over three years, into the benefits of integrating online interactivity into a formative assessment, which has been well received.
The Conference has been a wonderful opportunity to explore recent developments in CALL, (Computer assisted Language Learning) such as the use of interactive whiteboards, corpora and concordances, Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC), and the applications used in virtual learning environments and e-learning, virtual worlds, gaming, and Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL). Keeping an eye on the latest changes and the future of learning and technology and staying well informed are critical success factors for the CALL community.
More than 25 people have refrained from going to the beach to attend our presentation. The work we have presented has generated a good number of questions and a fair share of praise and some colleagues have already said they are wanting to replicate our methods.
